Kigali: The United Nations, reducing its Rwanda force to 250, yesterday
began to pull out most of its military observers and troops as shelling
and fighting between Tutsi rebels and Hutu government troops
intensified in the capital.
Austrians, West Africans and Bangladeshis pulled out as fresh troops,
including women, arrived from Ghana.
Six people were killed when an army shell hit a football stadium close
to rebel positions where several thousand people had sought refuge.
