KIGALI, March (AFP) - A United Nations patrol in northern Rwanda discovered a bullet-riddled car with the bodies of five people inside, including the head of a tea plantation, his wife and three employees, the UN mission here reported Friday.
The UN communique said that the patrol found bullet casings from an automatic weapon and grenade fragments near the vehicle, which was found in the Kinihira region .
Local sources said the victims belonged to the majority Hutu ethnic group which is at odds with the Tutsi-led government.
Clashes between both sides have increased in recent weeks while the peace process has been stalled.
