The day after its entry into Rwandan territory, a first French detachment continued on Friday, June 24, to assess humanitarian needs in the south-west of the country. Some 8,000 Tutsi refugees have been settled in three or four camps in the region. On the diplomatic level, six WEU countries will provide logistical or humanitarian aid to the French operation.
