PARIS, Feb 26 (AFP) - Marcel Debarge, the French minister for cooperation and development, leaves Saturday for Rwanda and Uganda to help seek a peaceful solution to the Rwandan conflict, his ministry said Friday.

During his two-day trip, a statement said, Debarge will meet Rwandan President Juvenal Habyarimana and Premier Dismas Nsengiyaremye in Kigali, and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Entebbe.

Parties in Rwanda's government coalition and the opposition Rwanda Patriotic Front resumed contacts Thursday in Bujumbura to seek ways of relaunching stalled peace talks.

Habyarimana on Wednesday appealed for national unity and denounced Uganda's support for the armed opposition, which has been confirmed by French intelligence sources.

France has deployed about 600 men in Rwanda to ensure the security of the African country's French residents.
